BARTMAN, Glen Donald

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Glen Donald (Don) Bartman. Don was born in Pollockville, Alberta on August 5, 1934 and passed away peacefully at the age of 81 years on June 2, 2016 in Strathmore, Alberta. He was a much loved father, husband, grandfather and friend. Don was born and raised on the Bartman ranch in Pollockville, Alberta where he worked with his father and brother until his father’s passing. Don and his brother Karl continued ranching until 1975 when Don and his family relocated to Bassano, Alberta where he continued ranching until he retired to Strathmore Alberta in 2011. Don is survived by wife Mary of 56 years, Marty (Darlene), Shelly, grandchildren: Chase, Shalyn; great grandchildren: Chance, Carley, Jessie & James, two sisters Hazel Kuz and Dorothy Munro, sister-in-law Tina, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Don was predeceased by his parents Russell and Mabel, three brothers Ralph, Karl, Howard, brother-in- laws Tony & Jack, sister- in- law Rita and daughter- in- law Faye. A memorial will be held on Friday June 10, 2016 at 2:30pm at the Rocking R Guest Ranch (East of Strathmore 8km to Range Road 243 then 5 km South to Rocking R Guest Ranch on East side of Road). Luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to Brentwood Run Club in care of Brentwood Elementary School (95 Brentwood Dr, Strathmore, T1P 1E3).
