It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to a loving wife of 43 years to Rodney; a wonderful mother to Shaun, Sherri (Shane) Westgard, Shannon (Doug) Hunter, Shelley (Michael) Adams; a grandmother to nine and great grandmother to one. Brenda comes from a large loving family whom she cherished very much. Born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan in 1952, she moved to Alberta as a teenager where she met and married Rodney in 1971. She called Strathmore home for 34 years and was well known in the community from her 17 years of service at the Co-op. She was also a loyal member of the Legion for 32 years. After a short but courageous battle with cancer, Brenda passed away peacefully at the Strathmore Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Lord of All Lutheran Church (Strathmore) at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment to be held at Strathmore Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Strathmore Legion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society (#200, 325 Manning Rd. NE, Calgary, Alberta T2E 2P5).
