DRUMMOND, Eileen
February 23, 1924 – July 22, 2015

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Mom, grandmother and great grandmother, Eileen Drummond on July 22, 2015 at Sagewood AgeCare Center. Eileen was born in Foremost, Alberta on February 23, 1924. She was the fourth of five children born to George and Mary Adelaide Millar. Her siblings were Agnes, Helen, Bruce and Grace. She was especially close to Grace as they were 14 months apart. The family lived on a farm in the Vauxhall District and the Millar family attended both elementary and high school there. Eileen came to Strathmore to visit her sister and brother-in-law, Grace and Girvin Laycraft and decided to stay and work in the area for a while. She worked for the Royal Bank for 6 years and attended the young people’s group at the United Church where she met Dave Drummond. Dave and Eileen were married at the Strathmore United Church on April 14, 1955. They had four children. She is survived by: daughter Heather, her husband Andrew, their children Courtney and Craig Gibson, great grandson Kieran, Stephanie and David, daughter Laura and her husband Don, Tyler and Bonnie, Brandi and Andrew Hayman, great grandson David, Drew and his fiancée Hannah, son Russ and his wife Carol Ann, their children Kelsey and Cameron, son Neil, and his wife Julie, Jenn and great granddaughter Hailee, Leigh, Shane and great grandson Tyson, Austin and Madison. We would like to thank the staff at Sagewood Strathmore for the loving care extended to Eileen. Services were held at Strathmore United Church on July 27, 2015 at 11:00.
