BEACOME, Catherine “Cathy”

Cathy Beacome passed away at the Willow Creek Care Center in Claresholm on October 30, 2015 at the age of 83 years. Cathy was predeceased by the love of her life, Ken, on November 1, 2007. Born in Carseland, Alberta, she met and married Ken Beacome on December 15, 1948. They continued working in the Mossleigh area before joining Ken’s father, Bob, to work on the family farm. Ken and Cathy also drove school bus for many years as a sideline to farming. In 1973, they bought the family farm located six miles south east of Mossleigh, where Cathy enjoyed vegetable gardening and tending to the farm animals, all of which she named with the exception of the chickens. She was especially passionate about everything to do with horses including horseback riding. Cathy could win the life championship of never wearing shoes to do all her farm chores. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home (1605 – 100 Street SE, Calgary) on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
