ANDERSON, Floyd Arnold

It is with sadness we announce the passing of Floyd Anderson. Floyd was born on August 4, 1937 in Cereal, AB. He was raised on a farm near Excel, AB and later moved to Calgary where he met his wife Olga Maharchuk and were married on April 19, 1958. Together Floyd and Olga farmed in the Hussar area until they moved to Calgary in 1970. Floyd worked for several trucking companies including Derksen’s Transport and Grimshaw Trucking until his retirement in 1999. He enjoyed curling, golfing and participating in many bonspiels and tournaments with family and friends. Floyd and Olga spent many years camping at Westward Ho Park near Sundre and have shared many stories and memories of those great times. Floyd is survived by his wife Olga and sons: Peter (Kristen) and Gary. He is also survived by sisters: Verna Barker, Bea (Werner) Niedersteiner; brothers: Gordon (Helen), Wes (Paddy) Anderson; sisters-in-law: Ina Anderson and Margaret Walker as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents: Ezekiel and Elsie Anderson, sister Irene and brother in law Jim Gilliland; brothers: Ron and sister in law Hilda, Lawrence, sister in law Marie. Lamar and brother in law Bill Barker. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home, 1605 100 Street SE, Calgary.
