Ivy passed away peacefully at the Meadowlark Senior Care Home in Strathmore. She was born in Gleichen. Ivy is survived by her children, Marian Christensen, Judy (Walt) Schopfer, George/Bub Fraser (Kim), Deb (Wayne) Kube, son-in-law Sunny McMillan & 14 grandchildren & 14 great grandchildren. Ivy was predeceased by her husband of 65 years Tommy Fraser (2003); son-in-law Norman Christensen (1977); daughter-in-law Nancy Fraser (1993); and daughter Diane McMillan (2013). Ivy moved to Standard after her marriage in 1938. She was very active in the community for many years. Ivy was a good friend and many people enjoyed the warmth of her home. Numerous meals over the years were shared with whoever was there at mealtime. There was always enough food; always a pot of coffee and usually goodies for everyone who stopped by. In November, 2005, Ivy moved to the Strathmore Wheatland Lodge, and in June, 2011 to the Meadowlark Senior Care Home. A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 7, 2013 at Nazareth Lutheran Church (Standard) at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Brad Everett officiating. Interment to follow at Standard Cemetery.
