Marjan was born in Slovenia on September 6, 1936.  In 1959, he escaped the confines of Slovenia and was held in a refugee camp in Austria.  In 1960, sponsored by the Roman Catholic Church, he immigrated to Canada and eventually settled in Regina, Saskatchewan.  He built a very successful house painting business in Regina and resided there until 2007 when he moved to Strathmore to be near his family.  Marjan is survived by his son Monty (Glenda) Boc and their children Annissa and Brett; and his daughter Tammy (Doug) Hutchison.  He is also survived by two sisters, one of which he has been able to be in contact with, Antonia Juretic of Koln, Germany.  He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers.  A prayer service will be held on Friday, November 29, 2013 at Wheatland Funeral Chapel, Strathmore at 7:30 p.m.  A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2013 also at Wheatland Funeral Chapel at 11:00 a.m.  Interment Sacred Heart Cemetery, Strathmore.  If desired, memorial donations may be made directly to the Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation (200, 119 – 14 St. NW, Calgary, Ab.
