CALLAREC, Bonny Alice

 

Bonny (Bourgouin) Callarec passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at the Strathmore Hospital at the age of 58 years.  Bonny was born on March 24, 1954 at McCreary, Manitoba and was the second youngest of six children.  She received her education at Laurier, Manitoba, graduating from grade 12 in 1972. On June 30, 1977, she married Gilles Callarec. They lived in Calgary for a number of years and later went their separate ways. Being she had no children of her own, all her nieces and nephews were her family.  She loved them all the same and never spoke against any one of them.  Each one was unique in her eyes. Bonny loved her solitude, space, and especially the outdoors.  She loved music and liked to sing. She was known for her “Big Heart” and was always lending a helping hand to anyone who needed help. Bonny worked at different jobs and was a hard worker and very efficient at what she did. She is survived by two sisters, Patricia (Dan) and Charlotte (Roy); three brothers Joseph (Mary), Lionel (Adeline) and Eugene Jr. (Shirley); and many nieces and nephews. Bonny was predeceased by her parents Eugene and Marion Bourgouin.  A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 17, 2012 at Strathmore United Church at 11:00 a.m.  If desired, donations may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society (#200, 325 Manning Road N.E., Calgary, T2E 2P5).
